Facebook has taken the decision to move the data of 1.5 billion users away from Ireland where it is currently stored -- and where it would be subject to the letter of GDPR law -- to the US where privacy laws are much less strict.

Facebook appears to be looking to design and build its own processors

The social networking giant has posted a job listing on its corporate website looking for a manager to help build an "end-to-end SoC/ASIC, firmware and driver development organization
The Oculus Go virtual reality headset is due to launch next month, and Facebook is also working on smart speakers that will be released at some point in the future.

It looks like Facebook is preparing to build its own AI chips
