PM Modi congratulates Karun Nair on triple ton

Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Karun Nair on a splendid triple-century against England in Chennai on Monday.

Twenty-five-year-old Nair struck an unbeaten 303 to help India post a mammoth 759/7 in reply to England’s 477 on Day 4 of the fifth and final Test.

“Congratulations on the historic triple century @karun126! We all are delighted & proud of your remarkable feat,” PM Modi tweeted.

Earlier, Virender Sehwag, who, until today was the only one Indian batsman to have scored a triple ton, also congratulated young Nair.
