Well as per my knowledge, jiofi sim can be used on any device like mobile phones. But jio lyf phone sim are locked to the device.

There is no locking.
Jio SIM can be used in any compatible 4G smartphone.
JioFi SIM is to be used in JioFI MiFi device which you have to purchase if you don't have a 4G smartphone. This SIM can be used in your 4G phone when you have it. Earlier there was restriction, but now, none.

So there is not much of a difference now.
