The 10-day spiritual retreat on Devi Bhagavathom, Devi Bhagavatha Sathram, came to a close at the Pattupurakkavu Bhagavathy temple at Pandalam on Monday.
The spiritual retreat on the 10th day began with the auspicious Maha Ganapati Homom performed by Manjunatha Adiga, chief priest of the Kollur Mookambika temple in Karnataka, in the morning.
Manjunatha Adiga also performed a Chandika Homom with the accompaniments of Vidyagopala Mantrarchana, Vidyarambhom, and Sahasranama Kumkumarchana at the Sathram venue.
Renowned religious scholar Venmony Bhavadasan Namboodiripad delivered a discourse on Gayatri Mantra in the forenoon.
Soundaryalahari recital
Recital of the Soundaryalahari written by Sri Sankaracharya was held later. T.R. Ramanathan of North Paravur was the Yajnacharya.
An auspicious Kumkumabhishekom performed by Manjunatha Adiga in the evening marked the grand finale of the 10-day spiritual event.
Hundreds of people from different parts of south Kerala attended the programme.
