Discussion Demonetisation of old Rs. 500 and Rs. 1000 currency notes

"Notes Ban Wasn't A Jhatka, Had Warned People A Year Earlier": PM Modi

The sudden move to ban high-value currency notes in 2016 was not a "jhatka" (shock) as people with black money were warned a year earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said in an interview to news agency ANI today, defending demonetisation.
"We had warned people a year before, that if you have such wealth (black money), you can deposit it, pay penalties and you will be helped out. However, they thought Modi too would behave like others so very few came forward voluntarily," PM Modi said.

All bank employees got good commission from demonetization.😊😊 Govt gave a opportunity to convert black money to white money.😊 Thanks to modi

First they spent crores on calibrating the ATM machines for the 2000 rupee note and now they would eventually need to redo it.

I still wonder why there is still no 1000 rupee note, apart from that the quality of 2000 rupees note is so bad that they would more or less disintegrate in the next couple of years!

Seriously insane moves.
