The pollution is because of the burning of crops in Punjab. Not because of firecrakers
Stop blaming Punjab farmers all the time.
Stubble burning has reduced by nearly 75% in Punjab, and similar trend is seen in Haryana. Despite, no compensation by govt.
If Delhi's area is highly over populated,
and people are not stopping burning effigies of Raavan ji and keep bursting firecrackers, this is inevitable

I'm from Punjab though numbers have gone down but still a large no of people are burning stubble. Yesterday some farmers took advantage of it and burnt it in the evening. I have pictures of it, the sky was already black with smoke and the interesting thing was it was well before any firecrackers.

Agreed the whole NCR region is overly populated. They just play the blame game.

The NCR has an estimated population of 24 million, exceeding the Delhi population of 17.8 million in 2014.
Delhi has a rapidly growing population, which was near 16.7 million in 2011.
City Size and Population Density
Delhi covers a large area, totalling around 1,484 square kilometers. The city has a population density of 29,259.12 people per square mile, which is one of the highest in the world.

Area of Punjab-50,362sq km
Population-2.77 crore(Punjab has 30lac migrants, mainly from up, bihar) .

Punjabis,Sikhs in particularly, has the lowest TFR(Total fertility Rate) of 1.5(This figure is 1.8 and 2.1 for Punjabi Hindus and muslims respectively).

Hindi belt , has high tfr, over population, low literacy,
and they immigrante to Non-Hindi states,
Want to Impose their language upon all, hesitant to adopt changes
Still blame Non-Hindians for their problems.

U are so wrong. It is a part of the Problem bt not THE Problem. Delhi itself is responsible for this for not checking illegal construction, vehicles and firms.
Traffic in Delhi NCR is unbearable and so is smoke from it.
And for Stubble Burning, Our Chief Minister(Punjab) went to Centre Governent to demand compensation for Farmers if they cut back stubble into the fields. But Centre didn’t do anything. How can u expect Farmers which are already in Economic Distress to buy Diesel(u know the price) to run machinery for this?

Punjab, and South states have religiously folowed the phrase "We two, ours two".
Punjab's Jatt Sikh(Farming community)further went for, we two;ours one.

And see, what centre gifted us in return.
"Days after murmurs of discontent from south Indian leaders over the manner in which funds are allocated by the Centre, the Union government has finally reacted. Subhash Chandra Garg, Secretary of the Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, made a statement on Monday, where he justified the use of the 2011 census figures in the 15th Finance Commission for the population component of the formula used for distributing central funds to the states."
