Defragmentation on hard drives

Diskeeper is one of the expensive defrag products out there. Surely performance can be had by using windows builtin defrag which also uses technology from diskeeper in the first place. Or some opensource like ultradefrag. Alternativeto is an awesome website to find opensource alternatives to expensive software.
