MUMBAI: The rupee turned weak on
Wednesday by 13 paise to 63.28
against the US dollar in early trade
at the Interbank Foreign Exchange
due to month-end demand for the
American currency from importers.
Forex dealers said besides month-
end demand for the US dollar, a
lower opening in the domestic
equity market weighed on the rupee.
They said, however, dollar's weakness
against other currencies overseas on
weaker US data capped the rupee's
fall.
 
A committee set up to suggest ways
to reduce the weight of school bags
has made 44 recommendations,
including that schools should ban
taking guides, activity, work and
practice books to class, they must
adopt e-learning, use audio-visuals,
CDs, DVDs, tablet PCs instead of
books, and the thickness of paper of
Balbharti books should be reduced,
besides books being divided into
four parts as per terms.

RIYADH: Saudi Arabia's King Salman
on Wednesday dismissed the heir to
the throne, crown prince Moqren bin
Abdul Aziz bin Saud, and replaced
him with the interior minister
Mohammed bin Nayef.
"We have decided to respond to his
highness and what he had expressed
about his desire to be relieved from
the position of crown prince," said a
statement from the royal court,
carried by the official Saudi Press
