NEW DELHI: When you file your tax
returns in July, you will have to
submit details of any foreign trip
that you have undertaken, including
the expenses borne by you.
The tax authorities have made
several additions to the income tax
return forms for the assessment year
2015-16 seeking details about
foreign assets and income from any
source outside the country, and
details of all bank accounts held in
India at any time during the
previous year. A taxpayer will have
to give details of any bank account
opened or closed during the
previous year, including those where
a taxpayer has a signing authority.
Further, it wants information related
to immovable property, financial
interest in companies and details of
trusts created outside the country.
 
AHMEDABAD: At a time when the
'Gujarat model' is being discussed
on global forums, agriculture
labourers in rural areas of the state
are among the lowest paid in the
country. These labourers form the
backbone of the rural economy in
the state.
The average daily wage paid to
agricultural labourers in Gujarat is
the lowest among 20 states. Only
Madhya Pradesh pays less to its farm
workers than Gujarat.

profitable firm on Friday. It reported
an 8.5% jump in its FY15 fourth
quarter net profit to Rs 6,381 crore
(over $1 billion) on a consolidated
basis, compared to the same period
a year ago. TCS had displaced RIL
from the numero uno position in Q3
as RIL profits fell for the first time in
two years to Rs 5,256 crore.

The broader NSE index fell 1.98
percent in the week, led by losses in
defensives sectors such as
technology and pharmaceuticals

NEW DELHI: Facing a furious
backlash against the proposal to
seek details of foreign travel and
bank accounts of taxpayers in the
14-page new income tax return
forms, the government on Saturday
moved swiftly to contain the damage
and decided to put the new form on
hold.
