Creative Technology announced the release of two new ZiiO Tablets in India. Introducing a 7-inch and a 10-inch models, the devices are termed "Pure Wireless Entertainment Tablets" and both run Google Android 2.2 Froyo.
These comes with features such as ZiiSound T6 2.1 wireless speaker system, Creative T12 Wireless 2.0 speaker system and Creative WP-300 Bluetooth headphones.
The ZiiO tablet, claimed to be the world's first apt-X enabled touch screen tablet, runs on Android 2.2. The tablet offers pure Android audio performance that includes X-Fi Crystalizer and X-Fi Expand.
"With the release of the Pure Wireless Entertainment range of devices, we have brought personal entertainment beyond the confines of a single room to the entire house. We have effectively given consumers a new freedom to enjoy their music, movies and casual games wirelessly throughout the home without being deskbound to a large console or game-station," said Ernest Sim, Regional Sales Manager for the Indian subcontinent at Creative.
The device comes with other features such as Bluetooth 2.1 EDR (with apt-X and A2DP), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g capable, HD Video-Out (HDMI-Out) and Low-Latency apt-X Codec.
The 7-inch resistive touchscreen model supports 480x800 pixel resolution and the 10-inch model supports 1024x600 pixel resolution. Both models come in 8GB and 16GB memory capacities. The device also offers a few accessories such as leather case, stylus, screen protector and universal power adapter. The 7-inch model is in white while the 10-inch model comes in black.
The tablet are photo supported with JPG, BMP, PNG and has a front facing camera, built-in mic, built-in speaker (stereo) and accelerometer. It offers a playtime up to 25 hours MP3 and up to 5 hours video. The smaller version 7-inch) weighs 400g while the 10-inch version weighs 650g.
Creative ZiiO 8GB tablets will be available in India at select outlets at suggested retail prices of 17,999 for the 7-inch tablet and 21,999 for the 10-inch tablet.
