What do u guys feel about covid now that so many months have passed?
Is covid still dangerous as it was said to be in January? Is there any after effects of COVID-19 on those who have recovered?
Asking as there are many asymptomatic patients who actually don't need any medication or treatment..
Also how long will the COVID-19 pandemic be in India not taking the vaccine into consideration...
Also is herd immunity real as some say and the virus dies down ans vanishes on its own ?
What do I think about COVID-19 now?
I understimated the disease like everybody else did. Looking at patients now I know how painful it is specifically the long term effects it's gonna leaves on lungs of symptomatic patients.
Is COVID dangerous as it was last January?
I don't think so. We unknowingly were being exposed to the virus and was not aware about its repercussions. Doctors knows more about the disease than they did back in January. We have now become more careful about our surroundings and taking precautionary step to avoid getting infected. Even our infrastructure is ready to take patients in lakhs.
How long until COVID-19 leaves India without a vaccine?
It's not going away anytime soon without a vaccine. You would think the virus has gone away. Than the second wave will start just like in other countries. Based on how densely populated we are. Be glad it hasn't reached any rural areas. You can't beat the virus without a vaccine as it's very contagious. Even when vaccine is ready. IMO it should be given to people with serious illness, elderly and kids before it reaches to rest of the population to bring mortality rates down.
And testing is definitely not the solution. How much money would we waste on testing? If we are prone to get infected after 15 minutes of getting tested. Wear mask, use sanitizers, avoid gyms, public toilets etc. These are the solution. Get tested only if you symptoms or even been exposed to viruses.
These are strictly personal opinion. Don't consider this verified scientific research.
Do I believe in herd immunity?
Yes, I do. I have been directly expose to atleast 5 COVID-19 positive patients. Yet, I never catched the virus. FYI, you need to have more than 35% of coronavirus in your body. For you to considered a COVID positive as it can't harmless.
In our case. We already knew where the patients actually got the virus. The fact that the disease never got transmitted to other people including family members makes me believe in herd immunity.
What does health experts say about herd immunity?
They don't believe it. Based on that fact many patients who came to donate plasmas didn't had enough antibodies to fight the virus. And there has been cases in South Korea where a person has got the virus twice.
