I have successfully configured Airtel Fiber internet connectivity using the TP-Link XX530v XPON router today by plugging the yellow fiber patch cord on it's PON port. This afternoon only received the device from Amazon so only got little chance to play with it for now. Will share more on it as I explore. 😃

Amazon Link for the device: TP-Link XX530v AX3000 Wi-Fi 6 XPON Wireless Router | Black | Dual Band 2.4GHz & 5GHz | 4 Fixed High-Gain Antennas | 4 Gigabit LAN Ports | 1 VoIP Port | SC/APC Fiber Port | Easy Remote Management

The below screenshot is from the router’s web interface showing optical power details which the Zyxel AOT-5221ZY doesn't show.

Did you notice any performance difference between this and Airtel ONT? 🤔
Little maybe, not huge. Because my Airtel ONT is already wifi 6 compatible and has other modern standards.

If someone having an older gen Airtel router upgrades, they will surely get visible improvements I feel.

The main benefit is better control over the network, since Airtel's stock routers are fully locked down, you know!

Yupp @Bapun bro your previous aot 5221zy was wifi6 compatible and has other modern standards but had 2 Major issues that was we 5221zy users are still facing
1) wifi6 falls to 160mhz to 80mhz after few minutes
2) ping fluctuations after long time use even local devices ip (192.168...) ping goes to 300-400 ms.

Though this both issues gets resolved after one reboot but its still there.

I am damn sure you will not get these issues with this new router.

Congratulations for new router.

Keep us informing about its features like dns changing capability
And ping on local ip address and ping on 8.8.8.8 google dns.

@Bapun bro can you please try changing ipv4 and ipv6 dns to Google dns and then check if IPTV set top box channels works or not?

You are right bro. I skipped mentioning about these issues because I have also raised it a few times before in the forum. It is good that you remember and mentioned. 🙂

The best thing with GPON based router is we don't even need to request Airtel to enable bridge mode and no mess up in the stock ONT happens because it is completely bypassed. Airtel many times denies activating bridge mode without static IP (despite it is not required for enabling such bridge mode functionality!).

Sure bro. I will check and update these here.
