Breaking BSNL Live TV app launched for Android TVs offering live channels and OTT apps in single app

Actually it is incorrect to use the term "IPTV" for these services. JioTV+, BSNL Live TV etc. are primarily based on HTTP (Hypertext Transfer Protocol), which is the foundation of the World Wide Web.

IPTV uses a more specialized protocol designed specifically for delivering television content over networks, whereas JioTV+ and BSNL Live TV leverage HTTP for streaming video and other data.

This means that these services can be accessed through web browsers and other HTTP-compatible applications, making them more flexible and accessible compared to traditional IPTV. However, this also means they might have some limitations in terms of features or performance compared to dedicated IPTV platforms.

Real IPTV is becoming less common these days due to the rise of HTTP-based live tv.

Jio tv+ is not an iptv service, it includes OTT feeds, where as BSNL providing iptv from 3rd party cable tv provider's headed server.

It is still provided through an app. So it is not real IPTV. It uses the same technology/protocol as streaming.

But it is ok to use the term because real IPTV is becoming dead.

Now iptv providers uses apps like Ulka tv and AP fiber, but iptv data is not deducted from ISP's FUP data

Through they have launched under partnership with ULKA, this was not popular. So i guess BSNL is launching their own app instead of having tie up with others.

Then BSNL needs MSO license and infra setup for iptv.

Excitel offers much better plans against BSNL ip tv plans, which are bundled with 50+ pay and 300+ FTA channels along with broadcasters OTTs, but both are tied up with ULKA tv for their iptv services.

This was available for a long time. Even for tamilnadu also open, since they launch in collaboration with ULKA. Current app something different from this one.
