After 5 days of usage I decided to pen down my reviews on one plus 3. My first smartphone is Sony Xperia Ion then Lenovo Note K4 and now upgraded to Oneplus 3. First thing to mention here is how I really liked the way oneplus increases its quality with each release. That’s really a wonderful thing. There is much difference between oneplus 1 and oneplus 2 and now between oneplus 2 & oneplus 3. Oneplus 3 is an extraordinary device at this price range. The name flagship killer is absolutely perfect for this device.
Good
1. Build quality is top notch. Uni body aluminium build which gives the phone a very premium looks and it feels great in hand. It’s pretty solid, light weight and slim.
2. Call quality is excellent. Using Airtel & BSNL.
3. Oxygen OS. It’s identical to stock android. Zero bloat ware. Not even Facebook which I really liked. I can uninstall any 3rd party app easily. Thanks to oxygen OS.
4. Lightning fast fingerprint scanner. I think this device has the fastest scanner in the market right now.
5. Display – Amoled display is gorgeous with good viewing angles. I compared with my friends Samsung S7 edge which have superamoled display. In that comparison it’s slightly dull but still the display is amazing. No complaints.
6. Snapdragon 820. The second fastest chipset available right now. I think 820 & OP3 are perfect couple. No lag anywhere, tried Asphalt 8 & Nova. Never lagged. Multitasking is good and Ram management is excellent. I paused Asphalt in morning 7am and I opened again at 3pm it was in memory still.
7. Dash charging. This feature is mindblowing.3% of charge in less than 2 minutes. This is crazy. From 0 to 100% it took only 65 minutes. This is really helpful in critical times. But this feature works only with Dash charger. Even when I connect the device with Huawei Power bank it charges at a normal speed. Charges 100% in 83 minutes with power bank
8. Camera performance is good but not the best in market. It struggles in low light.
9. Dark mode. This is something I missed in my previous phone. I really don’t like the white theme of android. So this dark mode is perfect for me.
10. LED notification with customizable colour. This feature I missed in K4 note as I had this in Xperia Ion. But now good to get back this feature.
11. Inbuilt gestures like drawing V for flashlight & O for camera is helpful
12. USB Type C. Future is here. Really fast in transfer speed.
13. Price. Oh Boy all these features for 28k Rs. It’s a steal. Worth every penny spent.
14. Last but not least – Zero heating issue while using the phone. That’s right no heating issue at all when you use the device. Used continuously for 4 hours and had no heating issue. Once I had a call with 4G on. Spoke for about 78 mins. Phone was chill. Had it been Lenovo my ears wud have burnt. And I never noticed 4G data was on until I hangup. So let me put an end to all speculation. NO HEATING ISSUE.
Not Good
1. Single speaker is not good. I am not getting much sound even in full volume. May be I am noticing this because of Lenovo K4 note which had an excellent speaker with Dolby atmos technology. So I am missing that in OP3
2. Camera Bump. Yeah its prone to scratches and have to use case. Ordered Spigen. Waiting for it.
3. No Proper Tempered glass because of 2.5D glass. All available tempered glass seems to leave spaces in the corner. Even the available edge to edge protection have bad reviews. Hope OP realise some good tempered glass soon
4. Battery – Battery is just ok. Nothing extraordinary and not bad either. Getting One day charge with normal usage.

1% discharge every 5 mins of browsing on 4G
1% discharge every 4 mins of watching Full HD video
1% discharge every 3 mins of high end gaming
1% discharge every 10 mins of hearing music
1% discharge every 8 mins of calling in 4G
5. Lack of FM radio. I really miss this feature. I listen to FM a lot. But missing that badly these days.
6. No earphone provided. And also all the official accessories are costly.
So overall it’s an outstanding device for this price. Verdict: OP3 is ahead of its time.
