Good News Bought New Xstream Airfiber

Hi Guys, I am new here. I bought xstream air fiber last week. I took the plan 599 black. And the installation guy told me that the new idu and odu are like hotspots. You can use it anywhere were Airtel 5g is available and also he told me that the odu don't need any direction( is it true?) . And also the plan I took is 599 which offers 30 mbps. The thing is I'm getting 150+ mbps. Is it normal? . Also they provided me with dth also. And the service guy place the wifi odu in the dish antenna stand.

Generally, ODU need to be pointed towards a particular direction where the tower is located and IDU can be placed anywhere within the house as it's basically like a router.

If you can share a picture of the new ODU device that you have got, members here can answer more precisely.

Also they provided me with dth also. And the service guy place the wifi odu in the dish antenna stand.

That shouldn't cause any issue as long as it is tied tightly. I have seen Jio AirFiber ODU placed that way too.

Yes. It's normal. My friend who got Airtel AirFiber said that he had also got such higher download speed for the first month. After first month, the speed was as per the plan speed limit.

I think Airtel doesn't cap the speed for first month.

Also the plan says usage data is unlimited. But many are saying the data cap is 1Tb.

Yes, high speed data limit for AirFiber is 1000GB or 1TB. After that post FUP speed is applied but internet will continue to work, hence they call it unlimited.

Similarly, optical fiber broadband has 3.3TB high speed data limit and after that post FUP speed is applied.

Ok thnx bro. Also will in future Airtel airfiber gets landline ? Because I got a landline number in this plan. While calling that no. they are saying unavailable.

In here the odu is not placed towards the 5g tower. Will it affect in the future?. The installation guy said no problem with the placement anywhere can be placed as long as 5g available?

Maybe landline will be available in future hence a number is assigned, I don't have any kind of information or confirmation though.

In Jio AirFiber also the fixed voice (landline) number doesn't work mostly.

If no issues you are facing now, I don't see any issue occuring in the future because the 5G network is expected to improve in the coming times, not go downhill.

If you are afraid of the placement of the ODU that it might get misaligned after a few months then also nothing to worry. You get free service with AirFiber (as long as having an active subscription) so you should be able to raise a service visit and get the it realigned in case of any misalignment.
