hotspot from my tab,bsnl 3g network.amazon video and YouTube works good in slow net, quality of video changes according to net speed.other apps like hotstar etc buffers alot.

Congrats bro on your purchase.
I am tempted to buy this device. I see lot of english series. But I don't have unlimited broadband. Speed is not a problem for me. I get 30mbps. but I can't afford to spend more than 50GB per month.

anyone could update me on this. on an average usage how much data, fire stick consumes.

Nearly 1gb per hour and you can set limit of usage(GB) in fire TV stick settings.

SD- best quality 1.17GB per hour
HD- best Quality 6.5GB per hour.

Congratulations what's the price :) and are you able to enjoy Semi-Premium service on hotstar using Jio Network. As Jio give semi-premium service for hotstar for free.
 
6GB per hour.  :skd oh my god. to watch a movie in HD I would need 14GB then. when we download, Full HD movie in x264 format comes around 3 GB. and ever better in x265 format its under 1GB. well archiving seems to be the problem here.

Don't you guys think 6GB per hour is way too high. Now I really can't afford it.  :no
