The Board of Control for Cricket in India has invited bids for media rights of international and domestic cricket matches in India for a five year period.
The bids are invited for the international and domestic matches to be hosted by the BCCI for the next five-year cycle – from April 1, 2018, to March 31, 2023. The rights will be decided via an online auction on March 27. The online bidding process will start at 2 pm.
The Indian cricket board has advertised its invitation to invite tender in leading national newspapers. The bids are invited in the following three categories:
  • Global television rights plus ROW digital rights package
  • Indian sub-continental digital rights package
  • Global consolidated rights package

Finally we see new broadcaster to replace Star:clap::clap::clap:

The battle of DDF bros begins. While most probably Star India will clinch this deal too (along with IPL), lets see what unfolds. Does Sony have a chance? Will they go aggressive to ensure they dont lose out like they did in IPL? Who are other contenders? DSPORT cannot accommodate all I think. What are your opinions?
