Josh Hazlewood, the Australia fast
bowler, pleaded guilty to dissent on
Tuesday (February 23) following a
profanity-laced confrontation with the
umpires when a decision went against
him in the ongoing second Test against
New Zealand.

Williamson was turned down by
Ranmore Martinesz, the onfield
umpire, in the last over before lunch.
Steven Smith, the Australia captain,
opted for a review but replays revealed
that there was a thin inside edge and
Williamson was reprieved by third
umpire Richard Illingworth. Since the
hot-spot technology registered a clear
mark, ball tracking was not used.
However, the big screen, which the
players were watching keenly as they
waited for the verdict, did not show a
