1.The last time Australia batted out entire day five to draw a Test match in Asia was against Pakistan in Lahore in 1980.

2. This is the first drawn Test for Australia in India since Delhi 2008, ten Tests ago and only the fourth in last 25 years (24 Tests).

3.373 balls faced by Marsh/Handscomb is the second longest stand for any wicket for Australia in second innings in Asia. It is also the most balled-batted out by a pair for Australia in Asia on the fifth day.

4.Ashwin has equalled Dale Steyn's record of 78 wickets (in 2007/08) for the most wickets in a season. Ravindra Jadeja is next in the list with his 67 scalps this season.

5.Jadeja narrowly missed out being the first Indian player to score a fifty & claim a five-for in each innings of a Test match (5/124, 54* & 4/54).

If the Dharamshala test is washed out, as the weather out there has been off late, Pujara should be blamed for losing the Border Gavraskar trophy to Australia

Virat Kohli unhappy with the ball used in Ranchi Test:

India captain Virat Kohli was not too pleased with the balls used for the Ranchi Test. Australia, led by Peter Handscomb and Shaun Marsh, managed to stave off the Indian attack for long periods and lost only four wickets on the final day to hang onto a draw.

Asked in the post-match presentation on Star Sports if the pitch was not playing up as much as it was expected to, Kohli said,"It was more to do with the ball. I don't think the ball was hard enough for it to bite off the surface. Even the one that got changed wasn't up to standards. I don't know the lot of balls that is coming in, it had nothing to do with the wicket. I think when you don't have the hardness in the ball it's very difficult for the guys to generate pace off the wicket.

"Hard new ball, 40 overs later again, the game gets delayed... If you have a hard ball throughout, then it's a different ball game altogether. Probably when they (Australia) were bowling as well. The harder ball would have made a difference. That's what happens. That's Test cricket. Conditions always don't go your way. You got to test yourselves. Credit to them for playing out the draw," he said.

24 balls faced by Marsh off Jadeja in the post lunch session out of the 11 overs the latter bowled. Handscomb and Marsh rotated the strike well to shield the latter as much as possible with Jadeja bowling to the rough outside the left-hander's off stump.

373 balls by Marsh and Handscomb is the second longest stand in terms of balls faced for any wicket for Australia in their second innings in Asia. The highest remains 391 balls by Simon Katich and Justin Langer in Colombo(SSC) in 2004.

0 Number of pairs to bat out more balls for Australia in Tests in Asia on the fifth day. They went past 264 balls by the opening pair of Keith Stackpole and Bill Lawry in Kanpur in 1969.

200 Balls faced by Handscomb in Australia's second innings - the first known instance of Australian facing 200-plus balls on the fifth day in Tests in Asia. In the five previous innings this series, he scored exactly 100 runs from 223 balls getting dismissed five times.

Mohammed Shami could play final Test in Dharamsala

India captain Virat Kohli today hinted that possibility of including fit-again Mohammed Shami who got four wickets for Bengal in the Vijay Hazare final against Tamil Nadu today.

Shami bowled with a lot of fire on a placid Kotla pitch.

“We sent him to play, wanted to give him match practice. I’ve not spoken to selectors but all kinds of possibility approaching the next Test,” Kohli said.

Shami was the part of the Bengal squad which lost the Vijay Hazare Trophy earlier today. However, the loss should not overshadow Shami’s performance in the match as he bowled with a lot of fire, scalping 4 for 26.

Previously, Shami, who played one match for Bengal at the league stage was declared fit to play the summit clash and made a comeback after a pretty long time.

How's weather in Dharmashaala? Are we going to have a full game? It's imperative that India win this last test, otherwise the trophy remains with Aussies!
