If you're using a Redmi device it's true that mostly stock Android will make you feel incomplete as lot of features we are familiar with in MIUI is missing. If you are on a tight budget of 8k, i would expect Redmi 7 to launch soon in India at around the same price range. It has a decent SDM 632 SoC. But still hardware in max pro m1 is unbeatable at 8k.
Redmi 6 pro has Snapdragon 625 (based on ARM Cortex A-53 @2.0Ghz) which was announced on February 11, 2016.
Redmi 7 has Snapdragon 632 (based on Qualcomm's Kryo 250) which was announced on June 26, 2018.
For the chipset specs and display I'll prefer Redmi 7. For durability it's Redmi 6 pro as it has a metal back plate.

How does chip announcement date affect a phone.
With screen size above 6" and resolution of 720p the ppi will be very low. Display wise Redmi 7 will be a failure.
After all it's hard to get Redmi 7 3+32 under 8k.
