Asus today announced the VivoBook 4K, a laptop that is said to deliver 4K/UHD (ultra-high-definition) visuals with a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It will be available in Icicle Gold, Glacier Grey, Black, and Navy Blue colour variants. The keyboard is surrounded by sand-blasted metal surfaces, while the power button features a spun-metal finish.

In terms of features, the VivoBook 4K has an IPS display with wide 178 degree viewing angles and a wide 72 percent NTSC, 100 percent RGB color gamut for vivid colors. It also features ASUS Eye Care mode which is said to reduce blue-light levels by 33 percent. According to Asus, the VivoBook 4K can be specified with a 5th- or 6th-generation Intel Core i7 processor with 8GB RAM (expandable to 12GB), and NVIDIA GeForce 940M graphics. Users can choose between up to 2TB of hard drive storage or upgrade to a SSD.

The 3840 x 2160 resolution display has 8 million pixels and a pixel density of 282ppi, giving it four times the pixel density of standard Full HD displays. VivoBook 4K users can also enjoy 4K/UHD clips and videos as well.

Great :tup

Asus always come up with innovations ;)

But your logic(4GB RAM on mobile) comes here also. Is it necessary to have 4K resolution on just 15 inch screen ? It's a complete waste But still Asus is providing it :lol

RAM case is different ,bcoz half of the size would be idle...

But visual pleasure in 5.5'' or 15'' or even 60'' still matters...
Coz u could feel the difference :ohya

You cannot tell difference between HD ready and Full HD even on a 22 inch screen. same true for HD and 4K resolution upto 44 inch screen.

How do you need 4K resolution on a 15 inch screen ?:D

Now higher pixels means it will require more power so less battery backup. That why I said waste of resource just like RAM in phone ;) But still companies provides it bcoz we customers prefer higher number :dodgy

I could observe the difference of 720p & 1080p in a 5'' smartphone itself....Vibrant color & density is clearly identifiable on 1080p over 720p :k:s
