Toshiba has announced its new Windows 10 convertible laptop: Satellite Radius 12 with a 4K Ultra HD display at IFA 2015. The Satellite Radius 12 is world’s first convertible to feature a UHD display

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 features a 12.5-inch display with a native 4K Ultra HD (3840 x 2160) resolution and is powered by Intel’s 6th gen Core i Series (Skylake) processors.

Toshiba has also incorporated an infra-red camera that will let users unlock their computers using Windows 10’s facial recognition feature called Windows Hello.

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 features aluminium frame for durability and weighs 2.9 pounds. The laptop is slim at 0.6-inches and includes 360 degree hinge which allows for the laptop to be used as a conventional laptop or can be folded to make it a tablet.

The laptop also supports DirectX 12 which allows users to stream high-end Xbox games to their Windows PCs.

“The Satellite Radius 12 expertly blends the latest technology into an extremely powerful, yet compact and easy-to-carry PC that is not only versatile, but durable enough to handle a highly mobile lifestyle,” said Philip Osako, senior director of product marketing, Toshiba America Information Systems, Inc., Digital Products Division in a press release.

The Toshiba Satellite Radius 12 will be available in Carbon Gray colour with LED backlit keyboard in US starting fourth quarter of 2015.
