Parallel Space is an Android app that has one clear goal; to make it easy for users to run the same app or game twice, at the same time. This means that users with a personal and business Facebook account can simply run Facebook twice at the same time, effectively signing in to Facebook with two different accounts at the same time, without having to switch between them. This can be used for Pokemon GO players, serial Instagram snappers and a whole lot more applications. It’s simple and easy to use, without taking up too much space or too much more resources. It’s professional, clean and useful with almost 50 Million installs to boot. So, let’s go ahead and see what all the fuss is about, shall we?
Just like the Android apps you might be looking to clone, people can download Parallel Space from the Play Store. Once it is installed, there’s a simple introduction to how the app runs.

This introduction goes through some of the key things that you can do using Parallel Space, such as the ability to install and run apps in incognito, leaving no trace for other users on your device.

Once everything is up and running, the app will take users through the process of cloning apps. This is exactly how things are done with Parallel Space. Users need to clone an app in order to be able to see it in parallel, and this is as simple as choosing from either a list of your most-used apps or a full list of apps on your device.

You’ll then be able to launch these apps from the main Parallel Space app, which makes it difficult to accidentally launch the “real” version of the app, as all of the clone apps are found in one place.

Users will also notice that there are some ads here. These ads will either appear as fullscreen banners – although these are few and far between – or as app suggestions, which are fairly unobtrusive. Regardless, this is a small thing to put up with given the fact that this is of course a free app. Whenever a user launches an app in parallel, for instance, their friend’s Pokemon GO account, they will see these apps in their multitasking menu as normal, with a note of “(Parallel)” next to them.

This is useful for all kinds of users, not least those that enjoy playing games that require the sharing of materials and trading. After all, why rely on your Facebook friends to send a shipment over to your main game, when you can simply do it yourself? I think of it self-fiving yourself every now and then.

Speaking of Facebook and other Social Media, Parallel Space is also a great app for those that might have more than one WhatsApp account, for instance. This will apply to those that have both a personal account and access to the business account. This would be, for instance, helpful for staff of Parallel Space themselves, as they too, have a WhatsApp customer service number.

There are other features here however, such as the ability to install apps incognito. How users can go about this is through the dedicated feature within Parallel Space, which will walk users through what they need to do.

Essentially, users just need to choose whichever app they want to install to use in the incognito space, and they can make it only visible via Parallel Space itself. Again, this is probably going to be useful for those looking to duplicate social media apps and such, but it can be used by anyone for anything at all.

To make it quick and easy to swap between apps, Parallel space also has a notification system available. This is a nice little addition, and one that makes it simple to see which cloned apps are running as well as switch between them quickly.

There’s a lot on offer here with Parallel Space, especially for an app that is free to download and use. It’s great for those that are dealing with work and pleasure in the same device, and it’s always a great app for those that just want to do more from the one device, such as families sharing one smartphone or tablet with more than one user.

After spending quite some time with Parallel Space, I can see why it’s heading towards having a whopping 50 Million installs. I tested this out with Pokemon GO, and I can now play my stepsister’s account at the same time as my own, without having to log out and then log back in, it also means I don’t have to remember two passwords all of the time, either. Any app that you clone with Parallel Space ends up running on your device just as any other Android app does, making the switch between WhatsApp or Facebook accounts as simple as it is switching from one app to another. Things aren’t perfect here, however, as some people will want to have multiple clones of one app, and there doesn’t appear to be a way to rename each individual clone here, which would make it easy to label one running instance as “Work” and so on. Regardless, this is such a painless and easy-to-use app that it’s hard not to recommend it, especially to those that are thinking of multiplying their gaming experience or using their devices for both work and play at the same time.

- Speed (4/5) – It’s super quick to get up-to-speed with Parallel Space, and I didn’t find that there were any issues actually running the second apps either, it all ran nicely and speedily.
- Theme (4/5) – The layout and overall look of the interface is good and it doesn’t have anything confusing for users, it’s all straightforward and accessing these cloned apps is super-easy, too.
- Features (5/5) – It’s an app that lets you run copies of other apps, just with a different set of personal information. It’s hard not to like Parallel Space. It might not be perfect, but it delivers on its promise of running multiple accounts of the same apps or games wonderfully, and it does so for free.
- Overall (4.5/5) – It’s a great app, and one that has a lot going for it, with some tweaks to the naming of these clone apps and such, Parallel Space would be even better. As it stands, however, it’s difficult not to recommend this to anyone.
- Makes the most of people’s Android smartphones or tablets by allowing them to effectively do twice as much.
- Great for those that use social media apps like Facebook and Instagram for both work and play.
- Makes playing games that require trading and such a lot easier to get more resources, and gives players more to do in general.
- Super-simple and straightforward interface is both easy to work with and approachable to those that might not know all that much about Android in the first place.
- Doesn’t allow users to rename clone version of apps to whatever they want such as “Work” or “Account Two”
- Some of the ads might annoy users, as they can come across as a little sneaky, despite the value Parallel Space offers for free.
