While only recently there was news about
Amazon entering the Travel segment, the e-
commerce giant will be releasing a new ad-
supported video streaming service. This is
speculated to be out by early next year.
However, the announced service shall be
separate from Amazon.com Inc's $99 per year
Prime membership that includes a video
service.
Similar to the Prime service or it shall be
different in terms of the cost, would be free or
chargeable, there has been no communication.
Also, Amazon has not commented anything
officially on this development.
According to the sources, the main aim to
Amazon is to attract users to sign up for their
Prime service through this.
Last week, Amazon.com announced its entry in
the Travel segment. e-commerce giant Amazon
is reportedly planning to enter the travel
segment with the launch of a new service
called Travel. As per a report by Skift, Amazon
Travel will feature booking of independent
hotels and resorts near major cities. The initial
roll out of the service is said to include select
hotels at a few hours driving distance from
New York, Los Angeles, and Seattle. The
service is likely to be officially announced on
January 1, the report added.
Setting up of data centers, Travel segment and
now new video streaming service, looks like
the retail giant has a lot of cards to unfold. All
we can do is simply go with the flow and
experience the upcoming and lined up services.
