Yes, firestick comes with 8Gb internal memory out of which around 5Gb is usable.
There is Firestore for downloading apps but you can also sideload any app.
This is mainly focussed on streaming, so video streaming apps are mostly available.

but my mobile not support casting...so not tried.
but if you only want to see photos, other options are there....
