Discussion Airtel Xstream Fiber choice landline number

Good news. My choice landline number was provisioned today. 🥳 🎉

I was not aware that they configured my ONT using ACS (TR-069) to update the landline number till the Airtel team called this afternoon to confirm that I can enjoy voice call services on the new number.

They further added that this service is free of any charges so I won't need to pay anything additional for this VIP looking number.

I never purchased any VIP number in my life so getting something like that for free was a sweet gesture from Airtel. 🤩

The Airtel Thanks app, router’s web interface etc. and everything else has been reflecting my new choice landline number already as per my check. The team also informed that my next bill will have new landline number mentioned. 😊

I remember you mentioning that your previous number was unassigned from your connection and your router’s VOIP configuration isn't getting any number from the ACS but the choice number wasn't allocated. In my case, they unassigned the auto generated number and assigned the choice number at the same time. Everything was updated when I checked.

They reverted with an email to acknowledge the chosen number for my fiber on 25th but till now no update on the activation of the same. ACS for my connection seems to be down for some reason. Have sent them an email today for an update, lets see how it goes. I dont mind delay in landline services in my area but the number should be allotted in a timely manner.
