Discussion Airtel Xstream Fiber choice landline number

I shared the last four digits and they said we'll get back to you on this shortly.

They never reverted back with any update in my case. So looks like choice landline is only on paper for Airtel.

I also got confirmation from the local Airtel team that Airtel landline service is functional in my city. Sadly, Airtel didn't actually provided the number (yet?) as promised.

I use Hola TF510 Landline Phone. Speaker and Mic quality is superb. Also I'm the 1st airtel fiber customer in my village so got an amazing number. It's like (STD code) AB000A

Today suddenly out of no where and a gap of around five days (four days later than their given ETA), I received a call from the Airtel team and they asked me for my preferred number again. I shared two different numbers (last four digits) as my preferences this time and the person said, we'll check the feasibility of the mentioned numbers and share an update shortly. Fingers crossed now.

Btw, I wonder why they didn't had any updates regarding the preferred number I shared in our last conversation. I assume they somehow missed my mentioned number in the last call.

Good news. My choice landline number was provisioned today.

I was not aware that they configured my ONT using ACS (TR-069) to update the landline number till the Airtel team called this afternoon to confirm that I can enjoy voice call services on the new number.

They further added that this service is free of any charges so I won't need to pay anything additional for this VIP looking number.

I never purchased any VIP number in my life so getting something like that for free was a sweet gesture from Airtel.

The Airtel Thanks app, router’s web interface etc. and everything else has been reflecting my new choice landline number already as per my check. The team also informed that my next bill will have new landline number mentioned.

Bro, I didn't greed too much so I choose the last four digits, otherwise Airtel allows to change up to last five digits also which I got to know from the customer support.

To give you some ideas on the number selection: You can choose any numbers that you feel are lucky to you or some sort of favorite dates or matching numbers as your mobile number etc.

I personally choose the same digit (number) multiple times and since my preferred number was available and assigned to me, my landline number looks unique now.

I don't know whether you can request for it or not by calling to 121.

Keeping the STD code aside, the last 5 digits are in AAABB format. The very first A was already there in the auto generated number so I choose the last four digits only like I already mentioned.
