Airtel has introduced a new recharge plan of Rs. 4000 that offers 5GB of high-speed data and 100 voice minutes for overseas use. However, customers in India can use the same plan and get 1.5GB of high-speed data with unlimited voice calls.

Its for NRIs for local trip of 1 year (1.5GB/day with UL calls in India) and International data of 5GB and 100 min calls for during transit travel (Ex.: India to USA).

The article is based on Airtel PR which mentioned it as unlimited and hence @sumitroy bro wrote the story accordingly.

Actually Airtel has launched new International roaming plans with increased data and more benefits. This plan (₹4000) is targeted towards NRI's. Airtel's International roaming plans are now the best in the market. Hope other networks will also catchup.

They can max achieve 499 2GB/day data with unlimited calls along with 300GB data. After that, customers will leave them(Jio and Vi as well) for BSNL. Already 349-399 is out of budget for most people. They not even using SA. Why to pay so much to them? Your 2.5GB remains intact in Jio as it's SA. 2GB as well as 300GB gets consumed in Airtel during 5G usage. I am waiting for 25% hikes in December and people cursing Airtel for good.

In addition to what Bapun bro said, Airtel offers other international plans that includes "unlimited data" but they did not mention in the PR what plans. You can check here -> Airtel International Roaming Packs

and the Rs. 4000 recharge plan is the new plan they launched alongside other IR "unlimited data" plans.

Your 2.5GB remains intact in Jio as it's SA. 2GB as well as 300GB gets consumed in Airtel during 5G usage.

Never gets consumed for me. Only deducted from 300GB quota. Benefits of having Samsung device can always confirm if 5G is not latching due to any issues. No false deductions of data or anything.
