Airtel IPTV is officially launching on June 17th in Delhi (and possibly Gurgaon). I just received this from the local Airtel representative who is responsible for installations and taking leads.

@Bapun / @AftabIN , guys, is it still worth trying Airtel IPTV now, considering the fact Jio has added almost all the channels in JioTV+ app? I'm thinking about taking airtel's 300MBPS plan and ditch both my Excitel + Jio Airfiber.

You can try it according to me. :) I am also currently using Airtel Fiber + IPTV as my primary ISP. I like it because it doesn't have the random routing issues that JioFiber has.

Try getting the new v2 IPTV STB.

Isn't that routing issue the same in Airtel? It is only with Cloudflare CDN. I don't think browsing issue is routing related, but rather JioFiber's DPI. Also, it rarely seems to be an issue with IPv4 only.

Besides that, does Airtel IPTV have better experience than JioTV+? Especially for someone who is only used to DTH? And does it contain contents from multiple apps in a single app like JioTV+? 🤔

Also, saw you saying Jio STB have quality issues at 4K. I have not noticed it, but I rarely watch anyway, so I don't think I'll be a good judge. Is it fine in Airtel though?

Browsing experience is good in Airtel, IPtv PQ is not good as expected, particularly bad in SD channels.

Yes, it could be due to JioFiber's DPI. What I mean was Airtel Fiber's browsing experience is better. Websites open faster, YT videos don't buffer, Insta feed scrolls smoother etc.

Yes, from this aspect, Airtel IPTV is better because it provides a similar kind of experience as traditional DTH with satellite TV channels. What I don't like is the remote control of Airtel IPTV STB because we have to press the buttons harder (many times the buttons don't even work!), and the remote doesn't have an "HDMI source" change option like the Jio or Tata Play STB remotes.

I would consider the remote problem as a minor/negligible issue if/when Airtel develops a mobile remote control app similar to Jio's Jio Home remote control feature.

Did I say that? I don't remember, lol. 😬

I remember saying JioTV+ picture quality is better on the Android TV app compared to Jio's own STB.

Ah, I misread then. Still quite weird that JioTV+ app have better quality in Android TV than Jio's STB. 😂

Yes, it's surprising. Airtel IPTV box also produces better PQ for JioTV+ app.

The only drawback is JioTV+ app requires Jio network connectivity on Airtel box, since my JioFiber is inactive, I can not use it on Airtel STB these days.
