Recharging for just Rs. 50 once in a month is not costly, this is bare minimum we must accept to enjoy mobile service. Please remember telecom provider have huge expenses apart from taxation and other things, add some profit margin and ultimately prices r decided for various plans. We all expect best coverage/connectivity but not willing to pay accordingly, this seems so not right.

I well understand that those coming from financially weak background may find it very difficult to pay as little as Rs. 50 per month on mobile recharge and they must be subsidised but for regular folks there ain't nothing to complaint about. U know i was on lifetime validity plan until airtel scrapped it in the hardly fought price war battle but still i stood by them bcoz prevailing conditions pushed them into taking this step, if we can spend such high amounts for single muktiplex movie ticket then paying fraction of it on mobile expenses or even subscription of important channels should not be case of worry
Exactly bro. Very correct.. I always support them. Trai also can reduce some interest and penalties on AGR but not the AGR..

A premium (and ofcourse expensive) offering is whats required in the telecom industry right now. Existing telcos can bring 5G and give it as premium and keep 4G for low/medium paying subscribers
Premium means Airtel. They might cut the Rs.598/- plan validity from 84 days to 56 days by March20 after 3G shutdown across pan India. Their chairman wants Rs.300 per month from every data user.

Premium is not just price. It has to reflect even in the service. I wont pay extra for the kind of coverage i get at my home and office. 5G is the only way that can happen. Telcos should treat 5G deployment as a standalone task and keep it running in parallel with 4G. So in future they will have two categories of services.

5G - Expensive and premium
4G - Cheap and ordinary

5G commercial rollout might be in 2022.
4G Premium : Higher speeds with large spectrum (includes band1/3G spectrum) with coverage (eg: Airtel)
4G Ordinary : Average/Lower speeds with normal spectrum with coverage (eg: Jio)

Vodafone Idea lost 36.3 mn or 3.63 crores in Nov 19 according to a source, but waiting for TRAI data.
