This will hurt 2G Users very badly😞 Now they don't have choice other than MTNL.

Now no point in keeping two numbers. In due course will port airtel to jio (This is used in bank etc) and leave the current jio number.
Only people needing two opertor for coverage will keep two sims now.
Ironically this year true dual volte smartphone have come out and most people will leave dual sim.

Then Jio will gain from its un redeemed discount coupons (Rs.50 each) with old jio sims. I have 29 coupons with old jio sim (Sep 2016) and now ported to Jio for main sim.

Yes but you will get them after one recharge on ported numbers. It almost impossible to use them unless you do data recharges too frequently.

This is related to infrastructure shift. Airtel is planning to convert its 900mhz spectrum from 2g to 4g. 2g will continue on 1800mhz. But half 2G customers have to be kicked out to use this spectrum for 4g. In future even 2100mhz 3g spectrum will be converted to 4g.

Now I have throw old Jio sim (2nd) with non transferable coupons after recharged main sim (ported to jio) with no coupons.
