Today I went to Airtel store to buy 4g Hotspot device but they are forcing me to buy 4 month 399 postpaid plan. Device price is 999 but I don't want to buy postpaid plan. So can I dump that postpaid sim after purchasing the Device.

Why don't you tell them I already have SIM and just want a device to aaccess internet when they force you ? You cannot dump postpaid SIM like in prepaid as bill will continue to come and if remain unpaid for several months then comes threat of legal action

They are saying you have to buy postpaid sim with the Device no prepaid sim can be used. Can I close my postpaid connection within 1 month?

better buy from online store
Any airtel sim will work, both prepaid and postpaid. Get a device from any shop or from amazon/flipkart
Price is 1999 but at store price 999
