Id say that this plan discontinuation is a stupid move by airtel. 200Mbps plan was a vfm plan, 50Mbps extra than jiofiber’s comparable plan. If they wanted to add Netflix, no issue but could have just capped speeds at 150Mbps to still make it a better deal. And added restriction of viewing ott apps only via xstream play app vs full dedicated login via jiofiber is still a problem.

They are providing iptv+ott for just Rs.100/- extra in Rs.899/- plan compare to Rs.799/-plan with 100mbps, so what is extra in Rs.1199/-for 100mbps+ott+iptv compare to Rs.999/- for 100mbps+ott?
Dude, do u even cross check information? 799 is broadband only plan while Rs. 899 is IPTV/DTH combo broadband plan

Rs.1199 plan now provides Apple TV, Netflix, Prime, Zee5, Hotstar and Airtel Xtreme Play along with DTH

Rs.999 plan all same without DTH

For Rs.350 worth free channels now they are charging Rs.200 So, cost savings reduced to just Rs.150
Wrong wrong wrong

999 plan now includes Apple TV and Netflix without any price increase and it is broadband only plan. Only difference is that speed reduced to 100 mbps

The 1099 IPTV/DTH broadband combo plan saw Rs. 100 price increase and Apple TV , Netflix included in it and speed reduced from 200 to 100 mbps

Stop spreading incorrect information, atleast read previous posts properly before making incorrect statements

Can we expect same pattern (savings reduction) in low end plans (Rs.699 & Rs.899) in future?
No.... Infact they have introduced Rs. 399 and 599 broadband and IPTV/DTH broadband combo plans respectively to offer people in smaller cities value for money offerings.... Airtel cares for all segments of customers unlike u or other continuously portraying them as if they just want profit

Honestly, they could have kept the 200 Mbps plan without OTT and IPTV/DTH. Or maybe OTTs minus Netflix and Apple TV. For those who want more speed will have to directly go for Rs. 1599 plan. Good for Airtel, not for us.

That I agree upon but maybe there were few takers for 200 Mbps plan so they thought of restructuring... Quite possible if there is a adverse reaction from many customers then they might brink it back

And thank you bro for putting forward a very balanced and important question .... This is what is called engaging in meaningful discussion rather than what some other members always do which is not only incorrectly understanding rationale behind why a step has been taken but many even do not put efforts to understand the changes properly thus giving wrong information+ simply criticising airtel for each and everything which is inappropriate and immature way to discuss on any topic

So much confusion created by Airtel in 100 mbps black plans of Rs.899/- and Rs.1199/-
