still they are charging money for Direct vide calls on unlimted pack and 1860 series numbers on prepaid. if we ask cheaper dth packs they always suggest highest pack. for example if the pack cost was 160, they suggest 250 pack. it is called dumb service. think as common man those who cannot able to reach customer care.

They r charging what suits for running a proper business, Jio is giving freebies to attract new customers and make competitors face hard time and ultimately pushed to corner. Airtel is resisting this smartly. Also FYI numbers starting with 1860 r not toll free ones, those r 1800 series.

Trying to upsell packs is ethical business strategy and there is absolutely no wrong in it. Businessmen do it to improve revenue and customers have right to not opt for it. Nowadays one rarely needs to call customer care for usual things, even complaint con be registered thru oneself. Yes airtel needs improvement on certain fronts but so is case for all things in life. No one can be perfect, we need to adjust and select as per our liking

Even Tata Sky gave me many offers / schemes / incentives. To be honest it depends on host of factors - how long one has been customer, usage pattern, interactions / productive feedback sharing by customer thus strengthening bond with company / overall maintenance of equipment by subscribers ( those taking proper care of product/accessories saves service costs to company which they pass on as few benefits) etc.

Agreed. Local Airtel technicians might be recognizing you as well - that really helps. In past Tata Sky distributor here was my father's friend and he helped me a lot. Issues were being solved very promptly. Now someone else taken it and i don't know him so doing the official way which sometimes become problematic.

That aspect is also there but i don't like taking favours or special treatment. Just like being a responsible customer and expect company to provide efficient service along with necessary offers if it suits their business model. Don't even remember last time airtel people visited my premise.

Lastly i should mention that airtel even gave me offer for free upgrade to V Fiber modem with Netflix, Amazon Prime Video etc. subscription but i declined. Using regular broadband modem/ plan right now , been since 2005 with them. :)
