Hi guys

If someone has paid Rs 2500 (₹699) for a new Airtel Black (FTTH + IPTV) and then if IPTV installation is not feasible or if he doesn’t want to continue with IPTV, can the person switch back to only ₹499 plan ???

What happens to the advance paid, will it get adjusted to the new plan ? And will they take away the STB

This is like they launching new product in a hurry without formulating proper rules and SOPs.

They have to clearly specify if IPTV can be disconnected and if a consumer can only continue with Fiber, and if so what happens to the IPTV box. ?

And if again say after a few months or a year he once again wants to opt for IPTV, then will they again give a new box to link with same existing fiber connection?

Probable customers are left In a mystery as CC themselves are clueless and store people also give different version. No one knows what the actual version is.

Now iptv soft launch happened, waiting for commercial launch, I don't think unbundle of iptv allowed in fiber black plan like DTH unbundle.

Yes I guess it’s better to wait until the commercial launch happens and things fall in place.

I don’t want to go by what CC says and take it as the truth for now.

Two days after you posted this message, IPTV was launched officially by Airtel.

Reference: Breaking - Airtel IPTV is now launched - discuss about availability here

However, no clarity on the raised questions yet. One thing is confirmed that since IPTV won't be sold separately so it can not be used in prepaid mode like DTH after unbundling from Black connection.

DTH is a standalone product, whereas iptv depends on internet connection, we can't expect iptv without internet at any time, so we can unbundle iptv, but not internet. ;)

Yes. I have switched to normal plan (Rs.499/-) from black plan(Rs.699/-) in Feb, they collected the xstream box in a week time as it was provided as free when i have upgraded to black plan earlier, but opting out of black plan is tough.
Can you share the process of converting from ₹699 to ₹399/₹499?
