Airtel will go for n28 in upcoming auctions and transfer its 5G NSA to SA in 2024.
Only 5 blocks left for n28 band govt recently given 10 blocks of n28 to bsnl. Airtel will buy n105 band in the next auction.

Jio spent 40000 crores on N28 on just acquiring spectrum, gear purchase and deployment cost will be even more. N105 will be even costlier than that. Airtel has debt of more than 1L crores. Airtel doesn't have revenue like Jio, thats why Airtel has went with NSA technology where 5G hardware is not required. But this strategy won't work for long. After recent tariff hike and due to weak Vi, Airtel customers won't get boost in anything. Airtel revenue per user will remain at 250. You see plans, close to 500 and they are just offering 60GB instead of offering 5G plans as it's available to everyone. Their target is to focus on postpaid(or you can say Airtel black) and this year they will loose on that front due to Jio unlimited 5G. Airtel black is not good enough at current costs. ACT is dominant in Hyderabad and Chennai. Asianet in Kerala. Tata Sky+iON+Jiofiber+Local FTTH in Mumbai and Pune. Jiofiber and GTPL in Gujarat. Jiofiber in Central zone. Excitel in Delhi where Airtel is good. Alliance in East India. It's tough to crack this competition. So Airtel revenue will come down drastically. They might add some of the Vi postpaid customers this year, but again overall they will loose on 5G front. Jio is ahead with 5G deployment by three years atleast if not more. But there is no need of 5G to be honest. 4G has gone pretty fast even on peak times with respect to Jio/Airtel as suggested from above screenshot. Get good CA handset and you are fine. With new X70 modems and VoNR and unlimited 5G by Jio, it's tough for Airtel to expand.
