NEW DELHI: The National Disaster
Response Force has been put on
alert after two earthquakes struck
India with epicentres in Nepal and
Afghanistan.
"The home ministry is collecting
details and information about any
damage from earthquake in India.
NDRF has been placed on alert,"
Home minister Rajnath Singh said on
Tuesday.

GUWAHATI: An earthquake
measuring 7.3 on the Richter scale
shook Assam on Tuesday at 12:35
PM.
The quake with epicentre in Nepal
was on latitude 27.6 degree north
and 86.6 degree east at a depth of
18km, according to the the Central
Seismological Observatory in

KATHMANDU: A quake measuring 5.5 on the Richter scale on Friday jolted Nepal reeling in the aftermath of major tremors last month and earlier this week which caused massive damage and claimed more than 8,000 lives. The epicentre of Friday's quake was in Dhading district, 52 km from Kathmandu, The Himalayan Times
reported quoting Lok Bijaya Adhikari,
chief of the National Seismological
Centre.
