Aadhar is just identity proof to get your Bank account, PAN Card, Voter ID, Ration Card, avail various state benefits. Resulting, everything get linked to Aadhar which makes it single click login to get services.
Although, in future when proper ending to fake Aadhar would be live, we'll see Aadhar as proof to everything.

There's some technical issue in Aadhar Data, random characters get added to the names, Aadhar has also acknowledged the same.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) on Monday said it has begun sharing non-personal, anonymized data from the Aadhaar Dashboard on the open government data platform called data.gov.in.

The move aims to further promote transparency, research, and data-driven policy making, said the Ministry of Electronics and IT in a statement.

I've a query. As current Aadhaar cards (both downloaded and PVC) come with a QR code which contains all the data including photograph and linked mobile number, can anyone scan that and get all the details easily?
Additionally, how safe is to share even masked Aadhaar card to hotels etc.?

The QR code is only for authentication purpose only it'll show up none of your details.
Same applies on masked Aadhar Card as well, nothing can't be issued with it, as it shows only basic details.

It seems wrong statement as I can (in fact I did) many things using masked Aadhaar, like new SIM purchase, opening bank accounts. In fact the bank representative insisted I hide first 8 digits and submit the copy. That was when masked Aadhaar wasn't readily available (some 7-8 years ago).
P.S. - Masked Aadhaar doesn't hide ANYTHING except first 8 digits of Aadhaar number.

By scanning the Secure QR Code on the presented Aadhaar/ e-Aadhaar, the identity of the presenter can be verified.

My concern is anyone installing above app can scan my Aadhaar QR and get ALL the details.

UIDAI has introduced new Secure QR Code which contains demographics as well as photograph of the Aadhaar number holder.
Am I missing something?
