Bangalore: Google has decided to close down many applications and merge others into existing products as features. In what it described as a 'spring cleaning process', Google plans to make things easier for its users by weeding out certain services. The search giant wants to allocate more of its resources to 'high impact products' which provide greater benefits to its millions of users. So, here is a list of applications that Google plans to discontinue in the next few months.

Google Pack

Google Pack was introduced in 2005 to make it easy to download and install a package of Google and third-party applications that helped users. A collection of software tools helped users to download applications in a single archive.

The official update on Google Pack site says, "Google Pack was responsible for fueling hundreds of millions of software downloads. A lot has changed in the last six years. Virtually all new applications and services are now on the web. With declining interest in downloadable software, the time has come to discontinue Google Pack." The company will, however, provide access to its partner softwares via direct links on the Google pack website
