Is getting a BSNL SIM replacement done too much difficult?

I was scrolling through my YouTube feed and this video came on my feed.

I was surprised by his words. The YTber said, one needs to visit the police station, write an application and visit BSNL office after that only SIM replacement possible. I have never heard of this type of process before. Can someone enlighten me if they (BSNL) require such a hassle-full process for everyone or it is under certain circumstances?

P.S. The YTber didn't mentioned he falls under any restrictions either (e.g. citizen of another country / having any criminal record, etc.).

We have already discussed when Pravin Purwar was appointed CMD, whereas now we have some spicy news coming straight from trending telecom company BSNL.

According to ET article,

The tenure of outgoing BSNL CMD Pravin K Purwar could not be extended following an ongoing investigation where he was chargesheeted along with nearly 10 officials of the state-run telecom company in a 2022 cybersecurity tools purchase irregularity, a source told ETTelecom.

Ravi, an Indian Telecommunications Service (ITS) officer, has an MBA in International Business and studied Electronics Engineering from Pondicherry University.

Airtel AirFiber product and plans were removed from Airtel website

Airtel AirFiber product and plans were removed from Airtel website (airtel.in/xstream-airfiber) - now the page redirects to Airtel website homepage.

Any idea guys what Airtel is upto?

I assume that Airtel is redesigning their webpage or they have taken down the product which can be due to lack of profit or some kind of network issue.

Seeking Help Not able to send “ *123 1# “query type sms using airtel network/ sim-card.

I have been not able to send “ *123 1# “ query type sms on airtel network/airtel simcard. I have been getting error that message is not sent. I have been experiencing this from last 3-4 days. I am able to send this using other network providers other than airtel. Has airtel stopped support for this particular query type or how it is?

Tarif protection plan [395 & 155 back]

Users on Internet are claiming to get 395 & 155 plans under tariff protection on MyJio website. But, used to recharge active or inactive number it shows error. Maybe Jio is testing to bring back these plans but with different approach. May be only for 'Jio' locked smartphone only. Let's see what happens in future.
Latest update is that plan is being removed from website too.
