India vows to fix cash crunch as ATMs run empty — again.

  • Less than 18 months after Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced a ban on high-denomination banknotes, India's government was forced into damage limitation mode on Tuesday after reports emerged that some ATMs in the country were running dry.
  • The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) said late Tuesday that regional shortages of cash were likely "largely due to logistical issues of replenishing ATMs frequently."

Intel is offloading virus scanning to its GPUs

Intel’s Threat Detection Technology will be available on 6th, 7th, and 8th generation Intel processors, allowing a variety of machines to take advantage of moving some virus scanning activity to the GPU instead of the CPU. Virus scanners currently use the CPU to detect against memory-based attacks, but a machine takes a performance hit as a result. Intel hopes by moving this way from the CPU that performance and power consumption will improve, as typical machines do not fully utilize onboard graphics cards most of the time. “Early benchmarking on Intel test systems show CPU utilization dropped from 20 percent to as little as 2 percent.”

MICROSOFT IS THE FIRST TO SUPPORT INTEL’S NEW CHANGES

Intel is partnering with Microsoft to support this initially, with the change coming to Windows Defender Advanced Threat Protection (ATP) this month. Intel is also working with other antivirus vendors so others can take advantage of this silicon-level change.

Yes Bro, laptop boots in few seconds and almost all application opens instantly.
Hard disk drives are very slow and it becomes extremely slow if there is any major background task is going on such as installing updates or copy / paste but, SSD doesn't slow down.
HDD is best for storing files.

I replaced my laptop internal HDD with SSD. And using HDD as external hard drive.

Delhi Police have arrested a 19-year-old medical aspirant who was impersonating as an AIIMS doctor for the past five months. The accused, Adnan Khurram, used his fake identity to make friends across departments and among medical students. He even participated in events meant for doctors – from strikes to marathon, said the AIIMS resident doctors’ association. When police arrested him on Saturday, they were surprised by his ‘knowledge’ of medicines, the names of doctors and department heads at AIIMS. Intel has issued new guidance relating to SPI controllers inside multiple Intel chipsets. The configuration of the system firmware device (SPI flash) could allow an attacker to block BIOS/UEFI updates, or to selectively erase or corrupt portions of the firmware. This would most likely result in a visible malfunction, but could in rare circumstances result in arbitrary code execution.
