BSNL, Softbank in talks to unleash mega telecom disruption

Softbank has held talks with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) for out leasing broadband bandwidth from OneWeb's low earth orbit (LEO) communication satellites to disrupt the telecom technology landscape in India with low latency Internet and voice services.

BSNL chairman Anupam Shrivastava told ETTelecom that top company executives made a presentation on the company’s preparedness to senior SoftBank executives on how it plans to use the satellite space which offers huge volume of bandwidth with low latency that can be used for consumer as well as enterprise voice and data services.

Airtel 100% cashback offer (8 coupons of Rs. 50 each)

Yes, this is a copy of Jio, but even Jio did not give 100% Cashback. They are just playing with words. The cashback of Rs 400 is over a period of 8 months, not within a single month. So it is not 100% Cashback. For each Rs 50 worth of cashback, you have to pay Rs 399 each month.

Hence Total payment over 8 months = 8 X 399 = Rs 3192
Total Cashback over 8 months = 8 X Rs 50 = Rs 400

Actual Cashback received against total payment done = 12.5%. Airtel's MyAirtel App itself gives Rs 15 Cashback on Rs 100 payment. Thats a straight 15% Cashback month-on-month. And you can use this offer multiple times for multiple payments of Rs 100.

I always observed this, hence this offer shown is an eyewash.

Riding on the success of its flagship devices like Galaxy Note 8, Galaxy A8+ and the newly-launched S9 and S9+, Samsung climbed back to the top in the premium smartphone segment in India with over 50 per cent market share in the first quarter of 2018

OnePlus remained at the second position with 25 per cent market share and Apple at the third spot with 20 percent. Apple's share in the premium segment fell as the volumes dipped by a massive 55 per cent due to decline in shipments for its iPhone 8 and X series.

Unmanned crossing cannot be eliminated unless you build all 65,000 Km of railway track on elevated flyover or put it underground tunnel like what Govt is doing with Metro system/bullet train because everyday new roads are being built, new colonies are set up besides railway track and people love taking shortcut so new unmanned crossing will pop up everyday. Moreover it's not like Train has left its track and crash on to Van, it's the Van who is crossing Trains track so it's the Van drivers duty to look out.
