Airtel joins SEA-ME-WE-6 undersea cable consortium

The cable landing, both in Mumbai and Chennai, will be fully integrated with Airtel’s data centre arm, Nxtra by Airtel, at its large facilities in the respective cities with an aim to enable global hyperscalers and businesses in the country to seamlessly access international connectivity and data centre services.

As a key member of the consortium of the SEA-ME-WE-6 cable system, Airtel has investment in the core cable and has additionally co-built a private network of four Fiber Pairs between Singapore, Chennai and Mumbai. This cable system will bring a whopping 220 TBPs of global capacity to India.

Hey! I'm in the same boat as you, I want to change the Nokia ONT with my SFP module since I recently upgraded to Unifi Dream Machine Special Edition and wanted to bypass the ONT. I was looking into various SFP ONT modules but weren't sure what's going to work and what's not

You can set different DNS addresses as primary and secondary, such as 1.1.1.1 for primary and 8.8.8.8 for secondary.

If one service is unavailable, the other will take over.

Personally, I recommend using 1.1.1.1 as the primary DNS and 61.1.1.1 (BSNL Anycast DNS) as the secondary for better geolocation optimization!

I am using 1.1.1.1 and 61.0.3.3 (South); the DNS is really fast.
