Discussion Jio don't want users accessing their router's admin panel (indirectly)

Have you guys noticed how Jio seems to not want users accessing their router's admin panel? Every couple of weeks (or if you don’t open the admin panel for a while), you get a forced password change prompt. The message states that you must update your Jio Fiber admin password (not the Wi-Fi password) with these restrictions:

  1. You can’t reuse your old password (fair enough, that’s common).
  2. You can’t even use the last 3 passwords!
Seriously? First, they force you to change the password frequently (in my case, it happens if I don’t access the panel for around 15 days or more), and now they expect you to keep track of a new one every time?

To make things worse, the admin panel automatically logs out in just 3 minutes if there’s no activity. Three minutes! Older firmware versions allowed you to extend the session timeout up to 999 minutes, but now the option is still there, just completely disabled. Jio is clearly making it harder for users to access and manage their own router settings.

Jio fiber speed issues fluctuations and drops while watching videos

Hey guys, I’ve been dealing with some really annoying speed issues lately—fluctuations and drops while watching videos on any site and even when uploading files to Google Drive or JioCloud.

First off, about video streaming—whenever I watch videos, they keep buffering, or the speed randomly drops. This happens mostly on 2K videos, and it’s way worse on Wi-Fi compared to a wired connection. I’ve noticed this on YouTube, Facebook, and even live matches.

But here’s the weird part—when I run speed tests (like 20 times in a row) on Ookla, Fast.com, and Cloudflare Speed Test, there’s zero fluctuation. The speed stays stable, and even the latency is super low (around 4 ms on Wi-Fi).

Now, about uploading—Google Drive is a mess. On Wi-Fi, the upload speed is cut in half with heavy fluctuations. On a wired connection, it does use full speed, but there’s still fluctuation—like if an upload should normally take 10 minutes, it ends up taking 15 minutes because the speed keeps jumping up and down.

Telegram is also acting up—whenever I open a group with new photos or videos, it takes about a minute to load them. But after using Telegram for 10 minutes, the issue kinda disappears. If I clear Telegram from RAM and reopen it, the problem comes back.

I’ve already tried different DNS servers (Cloudflare, Google, Quad9), but nothing changes. If anyone has a fix for this, please let me know—this is seriously driving me crazy!

Seeking Help Which is the cheapest wifi/broadband service for me according to my usage?

I came across JioFiber (399+gst for 30 days - 30 mbps plan)
You can go for this. You will get great (100%) uptime with JioFiber and speed will be as per the plan (considering it's optical fiber and not AirFiber). (y)

my family don't trust BSNL
Us neither. With BSNL, there are high chances of suffering. 😪

General Discussions about Satcom (Space Fiber)

Bharti Airtel chairman Sunil Mittal called on the governments and regulators to incentivise telcos to ramp up coverage in rural areas, adding that terrestrial operators needed to partner with satellite players for plugging such coverage gaps.

“We have a mission to finish the job of covering the last 400 million people. Compete on the strength of your brands, your services, but don’t try to compete by building solo capital infrastructure,” Mittal said on Day 1 of Mobile World Congress 2025 in Barcelona Monday.
