Discussion Expansion of Jio & Airtel Optical Fiber no longer happening after the entry of AirFiber?

I am residing just 500mts from the city, I am struggling to get Airtel fiber since last 5 years. I made payment to get the connection also and after a lot of struggle I got the refund. Within a month ACT laid cable in all of our city area.
This shows airtel is not interested to expand their OFC instead they are only promoting Airfiber which is totally useless.
First thing is to find whether in your city Airtel Fiber is operated by Airtel themselves or LCO. If it's LCO operated, you need to get hold of the LCO person. If he is interested, can do the expansion work after getting required permission and planning approval from Airtel side.

If your city is LCO operated, you can get the required details from your city local Airtel store.

In my case, since Airtel has been actively expanding in the city since last year, once I reached out to the LCO he kept me in loop and provided every updates till I got a connection installed. This is also beneficial for him because he got increase in his customer base.

By scanning the Secure QR Code on the presented Aadhaar/ e-Aadhaar, the identity of the presenter can be verified.

My concern is anyone installing above app can scan my Aadhaar QR and get ALL the details.

UIDAI has introduced new Secure QR Code which contains demographics as well as photograph of the Aadhaar number holder.
Am I missing something?
This is same as masked aadhar. Except aadhar number, all details are displayed on the screen. Only UIDAI app can scan the qr code and provide details.

Discussion Expansion of Jio & Airtel Optical Fiber no longer happening after the entry of AirFiber?

Airtel is actively expanding its OFC network to newer areas as we speak. Myself and @Bapun bro are examples of people who waited patiently for them to expand to our respective areas.

I have also heard that they plan to expand to more areas, this i got to know from local Airtel Store and local engineers and sales staff.

I dont think CC will have much info on this.

The QR code is only for authentication purpose only it'll show up none of your details.

Aadhaar (UIDAI) News & Updates

nothing can't be issued with it, as it shows only basic details.
It seems wrong statement as I can (in fact I did) many things using masked Aadhaar, like new SIM purchase, opening bank accounts. In fact the bank representative insisted I hide first 8 digits and submit the copy. That was when masked Aadhaar wasn't readily available (some 7-8 years ago).
P.S. - Masked Aadhaar doesn't hide ANYTHING except first 8 digits of Aadhaar number.

Aadhaar (UIDAI) News & Updates

I've a query. As current Aadhaar cards (both downloaded and PVC) come with a QR code which contains all the data including photograph and linked mobile number, can anyone scan that and get all the details easily?
The QR code is only for authentication purpose only it'll show up none of your details.
Same applies on masked Aadhar Card as well, nothing can't be issued with it, as it shows only basic details.

Seeking Help Please suggest for new Airtel xstream fiber connection options

@Muthu.svg bro, those are some good questions. Let me try answering them one by one.

You can read my Airtel Black (fiber + iptv) connection review thread to get insights on the same.

Bought Airtel Xstream Fiber Black (Fiber + IPTV) connection with AOT-5221ZY (wifi 6) ONT

I use Airtel Black combo (fiber + iptv) and I find it worthy because I get more channels compared to Tata Play at reduced cost with 200 Mbps internet.

The speed reduction due to IPTV box is negligible because it uses 2-3 Mbps bandwidth maximum.

Airtel has curated packs for bundled fiber + IPTV plans. You will get the default pack channels initially but once connect is installed you can add more channels directly from STB or via miss call or Airtel Thanks app.

No, they won't do ODU DTH setup because Airtel has stopped providing DTH for bundled wifi connection after IPTV service launch.

Only internet based IPTV box is given by Airtel for bundled connections these days.

It is rain proof, unlike traditional dish antenna based DTH. So you would get less interruptions compared to DTH even during rainy days.

Since dish antenna based DTH is not provided now, this question is not relevant.

For IPTV service, if fiber internet goes down, the TV also goes down.

Only one channel difference, Star 4K channel is not available. Rest all things are the same.

Furthermore, the IPTV box is more advanced and having modern hardware & software compared to Xstream DTH box.

Please let us know if having any more questions. Our forum members would be able to answer.
