Aerovoyce, one of India’s first Mobile Virtual Network Operators (MVNO) which operates in the Tamil Nadu circle, riding on the BSNL mobile network has recently revamped its prepaid plans. The plan listings on its website have changed after April 7.
Aerovoyce has listed on its website over more than 2 dozen plans including first recharge plans, second recharge plans, and data plans. The listings on the recharge portal and recharge app of Aerovoyce however have certain differences.
According to the Aerovoyce website, its offers 5 prepaid plans as first recharge plans priced at Rs 49, Rs 89, Rs 89, Rs 99 and Rs 149. The recharge app doesn’t mention these since these are FRC plans.
First Recharge Plans
Rs 49 plan offers 3600 seconds talktime with a validity of 28 days. Rs 89 plan offers a talktime of 9000 seconds along with 10 SMS for a validity of 28 days. There is another plan priced at Rs 89 which offers 2 GB of data for 28 days.
Rs 99 plan offers 9000 seconds talktime, 500 MB of data and 10 SMS for 28 days. The final Rs 149 plan offers 15000 seconds talktime, 1 GB data, and 20 SMS for a period of 28 days.
Second Recharge Plans
Rs 79 plan offers 9000 seconds talktime with 10 SMS for a validity of 28 days. Rs 99 plan offers 13800 seconds talktime with 10 SMS for a validity for 28 days. There is another variant of the Rs 99 plan which offers 9000 seconds talktime, 500 MB and 10 SMS for a validity of 28 days.
Rs 149 plan offers 14400 seconds talktime, 1 GB, and 20 SMS for a validity of 28 days. Rs 199 plan offers 30000 seconds talktime, and 20 SMS for a validity of 28 days.
Rs 249 plan offers 24000 seconds talktime, 2560 MB of data, and 20 SMS for a period of 28 days. Rs 299 plan offers 45000 seconds talktime and 20 SMS for a period of 28 days.
Rs 349 plan offers 36000 seconds talktime, 5120 MB of data, and 20 SMS for a period of 28 days. Rs 389 plan offers 60000 seconds talktime, and 20 SMS for a period of 28 days.
While all these listings are present on both the recharge portal and Aerovoyce website listings, plans priced over Rs 389 are only listed on the website currently.
Rs 499 plan offers 36000 seconds talktime, 10 GB of data, and 20 SMS for 28 days. Rs 749 plan offers 120000 seconds talktime and 20 SMS for 180 days. There is another variant of Rs 749 plan which offers 72000 seconds talktime, 10 GB of data, and 20 SMS for a period of 180 days.
There is another plan at Rs 999 which has two variants. One variant offers 180000 seconds talktime with 20 SMS while the second variant offers 120000 seconds talktime with 12288 MB of data and 20 SMS. Both plans have a validity of 365 days.
The company has for the first time introduced plans with validity of 180 days or higher. Aerovoyce earlier only offered select range of offerings. The 180 day and 365 days pack are notably not yet live on the recharge portal.
TalkTime Plans
Aerovoyce has two Talktime plans which are only listed on the recharge portal and not on its website. Rs 50 plan offers all calls at Rs 35 paise per minute, data at Rs 5 paise per MB and SMS at Rs 1 per SMS.
Rs 100 plan offers all calls at Rs 35 paise per minute, data at Rs 5 paise per MB and SMS at Rs 1 per SMS.
Data Plans
The data plan listings on the Aerovoyce website and its recharge portal are completely unidentical, however. Aerovoyce website lists Rs 49, Rs 99, Rs 199 and Rs 299 plans whereas the recharge app lists Rs 25, Rs 49, Rs 73 and Rs 89 plans.
The Rs 49 plan offers 1.25 GB data for 28 days. Rs 99 plan offers 2.5 GB data for 28 days. Rs 199 plan offers 5.75 GB data for 28 days. Rs 299 plan offers 9 GB data for 28 days.
Whereas, the Aerovoyce app listings show that Rs 25 plan offers 1 GB for 1 day. Rs 49 plan offers 2 GB for 2 days. Rs 73 plan offers 3 GB for 3 days, and Rs 89 plan offers 4 GB for 14 days.
Despite having launched 3 years back, the entity continues to be a fairly unknown company. While Aerovoyce is available for sale all over Tamil Nadu, it hasn’t really been able to create much impact.
Senior Editor Esmail Beguwala remarked that this because Aerovoyce’s plan stood no chance against Jio. He further said that MVNOs in India could only grow after there is a two-round tariff hike in India which will increase telecom prices allowing MVNOs to grow by offering cheap voice calls and data.
