Many of the games and apps are geared towards children, a new report claims
The information is collected by the software even when the apps are not running
Data on what you watch is sold on to advertisers for ad targeting and analysis

Created by San Francisco firm Alphonso, the programme listens for audio signals in TV adverts and shows through the smartphone's microphone.
The software even detects sounds while stored in a pocket if the apps are running in the background.

This just happened yesterday. I send my dad about a policy premium payment details on whats app. Within a couple of seconds I got a push notification from myairtel app stating "Now renew your premium through paymentBanks with cash back offer "
