Xiaomi has just unveiled the global variant of its MIUI 8 ROM. The latest update brings a slew of new features such as new color schemes, animation and improved image sharing among others. One of the interesting features that Xiaomi has introduced is the support for dual apps. This essentially allows users to run two WhatsApp accounts on the smartphone. The ‘Dual App’ feature supports many third-party apps.
Xiaomi, however, isn’t the first company to come with this feature. Coolpad already has it in its Max smartphone , which calls it BiLogin for system-level virtualisation solution and dual-space.
Xiaomi has also introduced a similar dual-space optimization feature that allows users to create separate spaces for different accounts with different passwords and create virtually dual space for the two accounts within the device. It is almost akin to having two different smartphones in one with their own gallery, own apps and everything you can imagine.
