Xiaomi is gearing up for an event on July 27 in China where it is expected to make some major announcements. According to a few rumors over the past few weeks, Xiaomi is going to launch its Redmi Note 4 smartphone as well as the long rumoured Mi laptop. There have also been rumors about a Redmi Pro smartphone. Now, the company has dropped a big hint in this regard with its latest teaser on Weibo that confirms the Redmi Pro name. The latest teaser has also fueled speculation that Xiaomi may launch the Redmi Pro instead of the Redmi Note 4 as previously rumored.
The Weibo post also reveals that the Xiaomi Redmi Pro will launch along with a “mysterious small partner”, though there’s no word on what this device could it be. Interestingly, the Redmi Pro, just like the Redmi Note 4, has been part of multiple leaks in the recent weeks, thus triggering speculations that both smartphones could be launched at the July 27 event.
Xiaomi Redmi Pro Specifications
Last week, a yet-to-be-announced Xiaomi device was spotted on Geekbench benchmarking website. According to the listing, the device, speculated to be the Redmi Pro, runs Helio X25 processor along with 4GB of RAM. It runs on MIUI on top of Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Redmi Pro is now also speculated to be the first Xiaomi device to come with a dual-camera set up on the back. A recent leaked image did show the dual-camera set up on the back but no fingerprint scanner, which also triggered speculations it may have the scanner embedded on the home button on the front.

In comparison, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 4 is rumored to come with a 5.5-inch full HD display. It also runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow and is powered by Helio X20 processor along with 3GB of RAM. The Redmi Note 4 is expected to come with 64GB of internal storage. It comes with fingerprint scanner on the back. Looking at the leaked specifications, the Redmi Note 4 is likely to be an incremental update over the Redmi Note 3.
