Xiaomi ‘Mi Protect’ plan for Mi 5 launched, here’s everything you need to know

Earlier today Xiaomi launched its much-awaited Mi 5 smartphone in India. Along with the smartphone, the company also announced a ‘Mi Protect’ plan that insures the Xiaomi Mi 5 in case of damage. The plan is available for an introductory price of Rs 499 for the first week. It will be later available for Rs 699. The Mi Protect plan is valid for one year.

The plan covers your smartphone against any physical and liquid damage for free of cost. So, whether your smartphone gets drenched in rain, you accidently happen to spill coffee over it or it falls from height; irrespective of the damage, the insurance plan will keep your smartphone covered against the uncertain scenarios.

With the Mi Protect service, users can avail the benefit of doorstep pickup and drop service. To avail the service, you can give call at 1800407333333, 18001233330 or 8080333333 and book a pickup. And while your smartphone is in repairing, Xiaomi will also offer you with a temporary device to use.

Mi Protect also offers other services such as SIM card blocking. In case your Mi 5 is stolen, you can give a call to Xiaomi’s call center from anywhere in the world and block it.

Along with the above-mentioned services, users can also avail assistance for a range of tasks such as managing display brightness, configuring emails, changing language, fonts, and ringtones among others. That’s not all; Xiaomi is also offering ‘Docusafe’ service with 1GB of space, which will let users store their crucial documents online.
